Paolini, after being home-schooled, graduated at 15 and started to write Eragon. After touring over 135 schools and libraries the stepson of author “Carl Hiaasen”  saw Eragon in a bookstore and brought it to the attention of the publisher Knopf, who agreed to publish the whole series.

The first novel was turned into a movie in 2006 starring Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Sienna Guillory,  and Alun Armstrong. Along with a few other actors who have now become famous such as Garrett Hedlund (Tron Legacy).
