Classed by my local library service as a ‘modern’ novel The Professional is very different from any other modern I have ever read. Cole’s website actually lists it as Adult Erotica which I believe is far more accurate.

Natalie Porter was adopted from an orphanage by a lovely couple living in Nebraska on a farm. She is studying for a PhD in History, she learnt Russian as her language requirement. One night Natalie is out with her friends for drinks, as part of the entertainment she gives her ideas about what boys are like in bed. She apparently is quite accurate. Then one man walks in who she cannot read, her friend Jess dubs him a unicorn, the elusive man that Natalie cannot understand.

This story was full of twists, and lots of attitude but also tenderness, love and raw sexual need. A great novel, definitely a series to continue reading
