This new Netflix original only became available at the beginning of February and I have already finished it. I loved everything about this show the characters, the world they created. It was so believable. If you love high futuristic fantasy but with more than a bit of violence, nudity and swearing this is the show for you!

Takeshi Kovacs is an Envoy solider, their aim; to eliminate immortality. This immortality comes from technology called stacks, everyone gets a disc implanted into their neck as a child.  This “stack” contains all of who you are, your personality, your memories, everything. Takeshi is “spun up” 250 years after he died by a wealthy man to help solve his murder.

This journey lead Tak to meet Kristin Ortega a Bay City Police Officer. They have a tumultuous relationship but it holds the whole show together and drags you further in making you care about them. The show deals with some sensitive topics, psychological therapy, forced sexual contact, death, murder. But it is done so in a tasteful way so as to show that it is not the end and that you can recover.

Definitely rated 15 and not for the faint hearted.
