This books is scandal after scandal sandwiched with intrigue, betrayal, and strange encounters. I don’t watch soaps like Eastenders or programs like The Real Housewives of “X location” but this is what I imagine them to be like. Maybe this is worse?!
Tulane ‘Lane’ Baldwine is the third child of the four children in the Bradford Family, the owners of Bradford Bourbon. Lane is in love with Lizzie King, head horticulturalist for the the BFE (Bradford Family Estate) but he is married to Chantal. He returns home to Charlemont, Kentucky upon hearing that Miss Aurora, the lady who raised him, is ill.
This is just the beginning of a whole slew of crazy things that happen. It turns out that Lane gets arrested because his wife, whom he has just served divorce papers too, goes to the hospital claiming he beat her up when he told him she was pregnant. Turns out his father William beat her because it is his child not Lanes (by the way William is married and his wife is still alive).
Too much more and you’ll know the whole novel. Lets say it is not very sophisticated writing, but it is a total mess of a novel. I am not its biggest fan but I might go back for books two and three depending on how I feel.
